Former NBA Player Scot Pollard Successfully Undergoes Heart Transplant Surgery

Former NBA player Scot Pollard underwent successful heart transplant surgery on Friday at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tenn. He had been in intensive care since Feb. 7, awaiting a suitable donor.

Scot Pollard’s wife Dan,  thanked the donor for the heart, sharing news on social media. Pollard’s health struggles have been ongoing since 2021 when he was diagnosed with heart disease. The condition, similar to the one that led to his father’s death at 54, necessitated a heart transplant.

Before his NBA career, Scort Pollard had an illustrious college basketball run with the Kansas Jayhawks from 1993 to 1997. Although he didn’t make a place in the last four during his tenure, he made significant impact by entering impressive figures with teammates like Paul Pierce and Reaf LaFrentz.
